Welcome to the Champhai Tourism Branding Logo & Tagline Competition! We are inviting creative individuals and design enthusiasts to participate in shaping the visual identity of Champhai’s tourism. Champhai, the city of rich culture and traditions of Mizo People, surrounded by lush landscapes and steeped in cultural heritage, awaits your artistic touch. Join us in shaping a logo and tagline that encapsulates the essence of Champhai, enticing travelers to uncover the unique charm that this destination has to offer.
We encourage designs that showcase Champhai’s distinctive character, from its rolling hills to the intricacies of local craftsmanship. This competition is more than just a design challenge; it’s an opportunity to become an integral part of the town’s identity, to weave the rich tapestry of champhai into a visual masterpiece that resonates with locals and beckons travelers.
2 The Challenge
Craft a compelling brand identity for Champhai that finds inspiration in Champhai’s natural wonders, traditional practices, and cultural vibrancy. The challenge is to create a curated tourism-focused campaign idea that unveils the hidden treasures of Champhai to the world using a captivating logo and a catchy tagline. The challenge is bilingual and entries can be submitted both in English and Mizo.
The theme of this competition is ‘Champhai Heritage: Threads of Tradition’. We encourage participants to delve into the heart of the town and the Mizo folklore associated with the Mizo culture and traditions, drawing inspiration from its diverse heritage, local artistry, and the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it. Consider incorporating elements that speak to Champhai’s unique identity – from its traditional motifs and vibrant festivals to the verdant hills that cradle this picturesque city.
Your submission should capture the theme in either one, two, or all of the following listed below. All the participants shall receive a Digital Certificate of participation from the Authority.
- A Captivating Logo that encapsulates Champhai’s cultural and natural beauty, symbolizes the cultural narratives of the Mizo people, from mythical creatures to symbolic motifs, let the stories of Champhai’s past come alive in a logo, capturing its essence in a visual masterpiece.
- A Catchy Tagline that resonates with the spirit of Mizo folklore. The theme encourages deep exploration of the unique tales and heritage that define Champhai, inspiring travelers to come and embark on an extraordinary journey to Champhai’s realm of wonders.
2.2 Submission Requirements & Conditions
- Open to individuals and design teams nationwide.
- The submission will be in multiple A5 sheets depending on the Logo or Tagline that are participated in.
- Each submission must include a brief explanation of 100 words depicting how the designs shall showcase Champhai as an absolute must-visit destination and how the design elements come together as a cohesive brand identity for Champhai.
- The sheets need to be compiled into a PDF format of a maximum of 10MB size for submission and be sent via email.
- Any form of identification such as names, nicknames, or codes written anywhere on the sheet will result in disqualification.
- The 100-word writeup will be in a separate sheet and must contain a clear and logical explanation that ties together the elements as a cohesive branding campaign.
- The sheets need to be sent to email@example.com by the 15th of February 2024.
- In the case of handmade designs, the scanned sheets need to be at 3000px X 2200px resolution and a minimum of 300DPI.
- Only the shortlisted entries along with the owners shall be asked to submit the open files once shortlisted.

2.2.1 A CAPTIVATING LOGO
Create a Captivating Logo that captures Champhai’s cultural and natural beauty, symbolizes the ecological harmony, and/or local craftsmanship of Champhai, capturing its essence in a visual masterpiece. Participants may consider incorporating iconic landmarks, local flora, fauna, or traditional motifs.
- The logo design must at least be 10cm X 10cm and not larger than 21cm X 14.8cm (A5 size) in landscape orientation.
- Participants must ensure original logos are submitted.
- Plagiarized submissions will result in disqualification.
- The logo must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
- Logos generated from Generative Art tools such as Journey or Stable Diffusion will result in disqualification.
- The logo final design submission may be designed on a digital platform such as MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop, etc. In such a case, the logo must be in high resolution and the quality must not be less than 300 DPI to avoid blurring and pixelation.
- The logo should be usable on digital media such as websites / social media like Facebook and Instagram, press releases, digital advertisements, etc as well as printed promotional material such as brochures, magazines, hoardings, leaflets, souvenirs, etc.
- Specify the font(s) used in the logo. Include download links if the fonts are not standard.
- Copyright of all designs submitted under the competition shall lie with the Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram.
2.2.2 A CATCHY TAGLINE
Make a Catchy Tagline that evokes a longing for Champhai, inspiring travelers to come and embark on an extraordinary journey to Champhai’s realm of wonders.
- The tagline should be concise (no more than 10 words) and evoke the spirit of Champhai town’s tourism.
- Entries can be in both Mizo and/or English.
- Participants must ensure original tagline phrases are submitted. The tagline should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act 1957. Plagiarized submissions such as those taken directly from existing campaigns and products will result in disqualification.
- The tagline must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
- Copyright of all taglines submitted under the competition shall lie with the Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram
- Specify the font(s) used in the tagline. Include download links if the fonts are not standard.
2.2.3 Judging Criteria:
- Relevance to Champhai town’s culture and tourism.
- Creativity and originality.
- Aesthetic appeal and visual impact.
- Memorable and versatile design.
- Effectiveness of the tagline in conveying the tourism experience.
- All the shortlisted participants will receive the digital certificates of participation.
- Winning entries will be published on the official Instagram page of Champhai Destination (@visitchamphai) and the Champhai District Website.
